This 8-day/ 7-night trip is a self-driven adventure that combines a four-night stay at one of North America’s premier dude ranches with a night in Vancouver and two nights in charming Whistler Village.
At Siwash Lake Ranch, a family-owned working ranch located lakeside on 80,000 acres of pristine British Columbia wilderness, ride as much as you like on your dedicated steed.
There are plenty of other options, including hiking and fishing, but you are encouraged to become one with your dedicated horse as you explore miles of trails.
Siwash Lake Ranch is also an award-winning ranch for it’s commitment and dedication to sustaining it’s environment. In Whistler, discover the world-famous resort any way you like—from a floatplane, zipline, Gondola, river raft, or on foot. Accommodations everywhere on this trip are refined, but the focus is on enjoying the great outdoors.

Itinerary
Road Trip from a Dude Ranch to Whistler BC
Day 1
Upon your arrival at the Vancouver Airport, pick up your SUV rental vehicle and find your way to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, explore Vancouver before dinner on your own. Famous attractions include Stanley Park, the Vancouver Aquarium, Granville Island and the shops of Robson Street.
Accommodations are at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver in a Deluxe Room.
Day 2
Today is a driving day along one of the most spectacular routes in Canada, as you make your way from Vancouver to Siwash Lake and your hotel in the wilderness—approximately 5.5 hours total.

Days 3, 4 & 5
Enjoy unlimited horseback riding on your own horse assigned for your stay. Hit the trail on an escorted ride, receive instruction, or enjoy rides on your own in B.C.’s exquisite cowboy country.
Other options include world-class fly-fishing, guided eco adventures, a canyon hike to nearby waterfalls, mountain biking in the backcountry, and paddling a canoe across shimmering Siwash Lake. Try a sustainable living workshop or a wilderness survival class, land stewardship project, or wildlife tracking.
At night, you’ll savour ranch-grown organic cuisine.

Day 6
Today is another beautiful day on the road, as you leave Siwash for your next resort, approximately 3.5 hours away in the heart of Whistler Village.
Accommodations are at the Westin Resort Whistler in a One Bedroom Suite.
Day 7
Choose among dozens of activities during your day in the mountains. Paddle on the River of Golden Dreams or on Lost Lake. Take the gondola to the top of Whistler Mountain for exceptional views (and a great meal!). Witness breathtaking glaciers on a helicopter or floatplane tour, or join a Hummer excursion into the backcountry in search of wildlife. Other favourites include ziplining, Olympic venue tours, river rafting, and bear viewing. This is also some of the most pristine black bear habitat in North America.

Day 8
Leave Whistler Resort today for the return drive to Vancouver. This is a relatively short transfer (2.5 hours), but an incredibly beautiful one along the famous Sea to Sky Highway. Safe travels!
