29 September:   Arrival day!

In the afternoon, we will explore the fishing and beach town of Hout Bay before taking the beautiful scenic road to Camps Bay and then to Lion Head, Signal Hill and the Cape Malay Quarter. We will conclude the afternoon with a cable car ascent of Table Mountain and champagne and canapés at the top as the sun sets. Dinner is not included – but a table will be held for those wishing to dine. (No meals included)

30 September: Sight seeing &  a cookery class

After a leisurely breakfast, we will stop at the T Bag Factory. We assure you that you will never look at a tea bag in the same way after this visit! Onward to the beautiful gardens of Kirstenbosch for time to explore and take in the incredible beauty of these world class botanical gardens. We conclude the day with a very special cookery class and dinner. Dinner and cooking with Sophia Lindop! (Breakfast and Dinner included)

01 October: Exploring the Cape

After a leisurely breakfast, we set out on a full day of sightseeing starting with a boat trip from Hout Bay Harbour to see the colony of Cape Fur Seals at Seal Island. We continue via the scenic Chapman`s Peak Drive to visit the Cape Vineyards where we will stop for a tasting, before continuing to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope.  After lunch, we stop at Boulders Beach to see the Penguins before going on to Simons Town and Kalk Bay. We will make our way back to Hout Bay via the Constantia Winelands. (Breakfast and Lunch included)

02 October: Cape Town Waterfront 

After breakfast, and time to visit the Hout Bay Craft Market, we will depart for the Waterfront and plenty of retail therapy! For those wishing to visit Robben Island (at extra cost) we will make the necessary arrangements. In the evening we have included a very special dining experience at GOLD. (Breakfast and Dinner included)

03 October: Stellenbosch & Franschhoek 

Today, we leave Cape Town for the winelands, first stopping at Stellenbosch. Stellenbosch is steeped in history and is synonymous with beautiful natural surroundings, historical buildings, and wine. Lunch at a vineyard is included. We then continue to Franschhoek the Gourmet Capital of South Africa. (Breakfast and lunch included)

04 October: vineyards of franschhoek 

After breakfast and time to explore Franschhoek, we take you to some superb vineyards and farms to sample wine, cheese, olives, olive oil and chocolate!!  An eclectic mix – decadent but wonderful! An optional activity of wine tasting on horseback is available (at extra cost).(Breakfast and lunch include)


05 October: De Kelders

A beautiful scenic drive to De Kelders. From Cliff Lodge, you can literally sit on top of the cliffs and watch the whales or stroll along the coastal path taking in breath-taking views. (Breakfast included)

06 October: Whale watching boat trip 

After breakfast – an amazing whale watching boat trip – the most awesome way to see the size of the Southern Right Whales. For the adventurous, we can (at extra cost) arrange Shark Cage Diving! Tonight, a gourmet dinner at Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. (Breakfast and Dinner Included)

07 October: bontebok national park 

After breakfast, a beautiful drive via Elim to Swellendam. We will make time to go onto the Bontebok National Park to view antelope, Zebra, Ostrich, and to enjoy some excellent bird watching. Dinner will be included in Swellendam tonight. (Breakfast and Dinner included)

08 October: ROUTE 62 

After breakfast, we start our drive to Oudtschhorn by using the most beautiful Route 62 through the Karoo Desert. There is such scenic magnitude to the day with vistas changing so frequently. Highlights will be stopping to see the Aloe Vera producing areas, then moving on to the Brandy Cellars before visiting Calizdorp. Calitzdorp, which has often been referred to as the 'port wine capital' of South Africa, is a small town surrounded by the natural beauty of the semi-arid Klein Karoo. The town is a popular destination for bird enthusiasts, as well as those who enjoy fishing, horse-riding and, of course, wine tasting. We arrive at DE Zeekoe in the late afternoon, a working Ostrich Farm where a sumptuous dinner is included. (Breakfast and Dinner included)

09 October: MEERKAT TOUR

Early morning for your Meerkat tour. Meerkats are part of the so-called Shy 5 which also includes the bat-eared fox, the aardvark, porcupine and aardwolf. The meerkat tours last between 2-3 hours. Upon arrival at the meerkat burrows, you are treated to a hot cup of coffee, after which you are issued with a lightweight aluminium chair to sit in while observing the meerkats as they come out of the burrow into the sunshine and then go about their daily routine of foraging and frolicking. These habituated wild animals are never fed or handled by humans. It is a fantastic experience & unique privilege to get this close to these little creatures in the wild. Back to De Zeekoe for breakfast before heading to the Cango Caves. You will then cross the mountain range and head to Knysna, in the heart of the Garden Route for three nights. (Breakfast included)

10 October: Featherbed Nature Reserve

After a leisurely morning, we include a beautiful trip to the Featherbed Nature Reserve (Breakfast included)

11 October: full day of african wildlife 

A full day of wildlife excitement as we head to Plettenberg Bay and onto the Elephant Sanctuary. This includes a full elephant introduction and tour of the Sanctuary and Stables. Brushing the Elephants. Touching and interacting with Elephants.Walking hand-in-trunk with Elephants. Feeding. The opportunity to purchase a DVD of your experience with the Elephants. After this, we visit the Tenikwa where you can walk with the cheetahs of Tenikwa through indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest and Cape Floral Fynbos on their daily exercise walk. A day you will never forget! (Breakfast included)

12 October 

Morning at leisure before transport to George Airport for your homeward flight
